I have been trying to participate in the growing leather jacket trend but I was determined to find a vintage version because:
- even though leather jackets are everywhere, I still wanted a one-of-a-kind piece
- you can find a real leather jacket for much cheaper in thrift stores
One year later (well it hasn’t been a year but it feels like it – I have been looking for a long time) I found one! I got this beauty from Vintage Depot at Landsdowne and Bloor for $30. It’s “cropped” (i.e. from the kids section) which is perfect as I’m a short 5′3″ and I really love the metal zipper details. Now I’m off to try it on with everything I own!
PS. Vintage Depot has LOADS of leathers, furs, and great outerwear from $20 – $40, make sure you take a trip this week!

Cuuuuuuute!! It looks so tiny, especially the sleeves. Are they long enough for you? I feel like if they are a bit short it takes away from the edginess, which is good.
I found one this weekend, too — rummaging through the halloween box at my parents house! It’s a bomber jacket though and I’m not a huge fan of that silhouette for obvious reasons, and is way tougher than my usual look, but it’s mine.
the sleeves are 3/4’s on me – I’ll have to post a pic! Your jacket sounds great!
Being a leather lover, I cannot imagine getting a leather jacket (that is also soooo trendy) for so cheap! Way to go!!!
