I’m going through an intense accessory phase! My brain is full of necklace, scarf, and purse DIYs and since I don’t have a lot of necklaces so I decided to make one. I love the lace necklaces that are trendy right now and after staring at a couple hundred figured that I could easily make my own. My lace flower necklace is a super easy DIY and a great summer accessory. Enjoy!

What You Need

  • Chain
  • Rings (to connect the flower and chain)
  • Lace
  • Hand-sewing needle and thread

How-To

  1. Cut out your flowers or designs from lace.
  2. Pin to decide on placement. I find planning this way really helps me decide on the design. I initially started with three types of lace flowers but it was too much when I pinned and tried on the necklace
  3. Sew rings onto the back of your flowers with a hand-sewing needle
  4. Attach the flowers!

It’s that easy! You can do a simple necklace like mine or go wild and use ten different types of lace.  I would love to hear your comments/suggestions/ideas!

  1. Cute cute cute! I have lots of left over lace from an old DIY. Can’t wait to try this.

  2. Beauty! I should really do this.

    I bought a necklace similar to this (but in white) a couple months ago and haven’t figured out how to work it into an outfit yet: http://www.etsy.com/listing/41306907/mireio.

    Any ideas?

    @Rayanee, that’s a super cute necklace! I would wear it as though it were replacing a collar on a dress or blouse. So if you have a plain round neck blouse (like the one in your pic) i think it would work perfectly

    @Dad, you’re weird!

    Thanks for your comments everyone!
