Hey guys! As usual I got hooked on a certain embellishment after using it, (ie. Fringe Collar) so I decided to add it to the shoulders of my t-shirt dress which I wore as a shirt in the pic below.

Cost of DIY: $19

What You Need:

  • Fringe: I got this at Sussman’s Bridal on Queen for about $8/yard but you can find it at some Fabricland locations for about $6/metre
  • Tshirt/Dress: Already existed in my closet… I actually got this at Smart Set for $7. It was an XL tank top I altered.

How To:

  1. Pin Fringe in place.
  2. Use your sewing machine or hand sew the fringe on. If you use a sewing machine use a low tension otherwise your fringe will get sucked into your machine… which happened to me… not good.

Something tells me I’m not done with fringe….

  1. Fantastic – from a distance it almost looks like feathers. I’m so glad you showed the it on – the mannequin does not do it justice.

And I tried the baking soda, and febreeze technique for getting out musty smells. The baking soda worked out better for me. The clothes still have a mild odor, but I think that’s my fault – I put like 12 pieces into the same bag. The febreeze initially was great, but I found the smells come back.

Thanks! Yes the pic is a bit blurry thus the feather-ness and “glow”

Try airing out your stuff! I did that with my leather jacket and it worked. Just let it sit outside (in the sun helps) for a few hours.

    Thanks for the comment!

  3. i freaking love this one!!
