The lovely ladies from The Jobspot, Ryerson University’s Career Development and Employment Centre blog, asked me to help them with a segment about appropriate business attire for a student-friendly budget. We traveled to Value Village and I found some great outfits at affordable prices. I hope you can walk away with some good tips (I appear after a minute and a half). Please enjoy and excuse my many “umms” and “perfects” I’m very nervous in front of a camera!

I’ve featured Char Loro (the cutie on the right) on MyVintageSecret before. As well as the host of this segment she also put together the video. Check out her blog here

This is a great segment Kaitlin
What VV is this – I can’t seem to find any good ones in the area anymore!
Thank-you! This VV is at Landsdowne and Bloor, it’s pretty decent, try to shop during the day to beat all the hipsters
I’ve tried thrift shopping for the first time during the summer and got two amazing skirts for under 10 dollars! Every now and then I get sudden “cravings” to go thrifting, which is pretty much guilt-free shopping since it’s so cheap.
I heard the ones downtown are usually very picked through, I think i’ll stick to my suburban thrift stores.
@Lucy
Thrift shopping is addictive! I remember my first time too – I never looked back!
It’s somewhat true about the downtown VVs being picked through, you do find some great stuff but I’m sure not compared to sites outside of the city. The first thing I do when I go home is go to my local second-hand stores. You’re very lucky to have access to suburban stores!
*thanks for commenting!
Ya right you were so good on camera! You definitely should have had a feature in a SMP =)
you’re famous! that VV is so good, but yes, hipster hangout to the max.
