In the beginning of January I asked people to vote on which Men’s
Dress Shirt DIY I should do from one of my favourite books, Cool
Couture Remake Dresses. One of the runners up was Tie-Me-Up
so I did it today!
Materials
- Dress shirt – can be found in your brothers, dad’s or boyfriend’s closet or the thrift store
- Ribbon
- Scissors
Instructions
- Decide where to cut sleeves and collar.
- Dress shirts are woven so they fray easily once cut. A serger is best for finishing but if you don’t have one zig-zag stitches will do the trick.
- Fold over edges and sew down
- Decide on ribbon placement. Sew the ribbon while placed inside the armhole (see pic)
- Fold over ribbon and tie!
- Ribbons also fray, and easy way to stop this is to melt the edges with a lighter. BE CAREFUL!
- The End!

haha I tried to take a picture of myself but my battery was dying and I have to take 200 pics before I look decent… I know excuses. I’ll try to take a pic soon!
Thanks for the comment Genya!
